Axis attack on Serbia in April 1941; Serbian surrender; Montenegro became part of the Italian (fascist) empire; Italian governors; after the Italian surrender in Sepember 1943, German forces occupied Montenegro; bombing of Podigorica by the USAAF and the RAF. At the end of the war, Montenegro was re-absorbed into (Titoist) Yugoslavia.

To disentangle the events one will have to read material in England. Difficult to find anyone who can explain - maybe if I find a tour some answers can be given.
